Last night we came together to celebrate the achievements of our Years 6-12 students this year. It was a magnificent evening, althought it was bittersweet to say goodbye to the Class of 2023. 

As well as honouring our students, awards were also given to our ‘Giborim’ (heros), who have done so much for our school – Lahra Carey, Jason Arnheim and Graeme Samuel AC. We also congratuated the recipient of the Michele Bernshaw Excellence in Teaching Award, Jen Duband. 

We also marked the first night of Chanukah together, with the lighting of the Chanukiyah and blessings. From a Yacht Rock medley, to beautifully sang Hebrew songs, to Crowded House’s ‘Don’t Dream it’s Over’, our student musicians ensured the night had a special atmosphere.

After hearing the meaningful reflections on their school journeys by Charles Black and Oscar Gorog, we received a closing blessing by Rabbi Dr Allison Conyer. Thank you to everyone involved in the night, particularly David Opat for MCing the evening. Mazal tov again to our award winners and the Class of 2023!
