City Art Experience

Last week Year 6 and 7 students had a full day art excursion in the city. The day started with the ‘art of play’ program at the NGV. This program had students experiment with practical and playful activities within the gallery. Students then completed an observational drawing workshop in the botanical gardens, where they drew the surrounding gardens and city-scape. Lastly, they attended the ACMI exhibition ‘The story of the moving image’. This exhibition was an interactive journey of the history of ‘the moving image’ which began with stop motion and traversed through to gaming and modern immersive experiences. All and all, it was a fun, educational and positive day. Students were very engaged and brought creativity and curiosity to everything the day offered. A big thanks to Jackson Muir and Corinne Applebaum for organizing the event and thanks to Adam Black and Marlo Coorey for helping out on the day.
