Evidence-based learning strategies for study

We are excited to invite families to a special evening event with Tom Sherrington, a renowned UK-based educator, on Tuesday 29 October at 7:00 PM. This is a unique opportunity to gain insights directly from Tom as he explores key concepts from his latest book, guiding parents and students toward successful learning practices. The evening will cover topics such as:
– Techniques to help students organise and retain what they’ve learned
– Exploring the importance of core and background knowledge
– Strategies for assessing understanding and closing knowledge gaps
– The significance of repeated study and practice in mastering content
– Supporting students under pressure

Tom Sherrington will also be joining us for a day of expert professional development with our teachers at the Magid Campus. Tom will be working closely with our educators to deepen their understanding and practice of WalkThrus— a comprehensive classroom learning framework that we introduced at our school in 2023 and are continuing to expand in 2024. WalkThrus is designed to enhance the quality of teaching and learning by providing structured, evidence-based strategies that are both practical and impactful for everyday classroom use. Tom Sherrington developed this program to simplify the application of complex teaching techniques, making them more accessible and actionable for educators.
