Parent Education: Surfing the Digital Tsunami

We invite parents and students from Years 5-12 to attend a highly relevant information session on how to help young people prepare for and manage the digital world – social media, mental health and safety. Families will have the opportunity to hear from Dr. Grant Blashki and Isabelle Blashki,

Dr. Grant Blashki has been a GP and academic for three decades and is a proud former KDS parent. His research has focused on mental health, AI and health, and the health impacts of climate change. His recent book, “Be Your Own Algorithm – Surfing the Digital Tsunami”, is designed for both students and adults, offering practical guidance on navigating the digital revolution while safeguarding mental health.

Isabelle Blashki has worked in hundreds of schools across Australia educating on cyber-education, social media and cyberbullying, she has presented workshops at King David  to Senior students on social media safety. Isabelle worked for over 3 years at Project Rockit – Australia’s youth-driven movement against bullying, hate and prejudice tackling big topics, and providing tips and tricks on cyberbullying, digital engagement and digital safety. Isabelle volunteers at Stand Up, a Jewish not-for-profit inspiring a generation of social justice changemakers through the Derech Eretz program.
