ELC children make a difference on Clean Up Australia Day
In the lead up to Clean up Australia Day which is today, there have been discussions in the ELC about recycling and environmental action.
Gan Rimon children participated in this special day by walking to Armadale Reserve and searching all around the park and trees for any rubbish using special gloves. Four different bins have been installed in the Gan Rimon class in an effort to minimise waste and sustainability will be embedded into the curriculum throughout the year. The children have been learning about soft plastics and composting. They created a soft plastic diarama outside the room and drew plants and trees which hang inside.
In Gan Zayit, children gloved up and walked around the School cleaning up, agreeing to commit to this “mitzvah” at least once a month!
