Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day)
On Monday this week, the School commemorated Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) with a moving and sombre Senior School assembly organised by our students, and included an address by child survivor, Danielle Charak.
Ella Carmeli-Wolski (Year 10), Shana Epstein (Year 10) and Yoni Ringelblum (Year 11) sang the powerful and inspirational Partisan song in Yiddish, which symbolises survival. A recording can be viewed HERE. Shayna and Yoni also poignantly sang Mayn Shvester Khaye (my sister Khaye) by Binem Heller.
Year 7 student, Lennox Burstin-Irwin and teacher, Hayley Rosenbaum also presented their personal family stories.
Junior School students recognised this important memorial as part of their Rosh Chodesh tefillah.
