The theme for this year was First Nation ANZACS and students heard from Indigenous educator Aleryk Fricker, history lecturer from RMIT who belongs to the Dja Dja Wurrung people who spoke movingly about his own family’s experiences. Students learned of the discrimination faced by First Nations servicemen and women when they returned from war and thought about what the ANZAC legacy truly is.
