As a memento of their time in KDS Junior School, our Year 5 students painted their own unique kiddush cups this week. Each student created their individual cos l’mitzvah, a goblet with which to perform the mitzvah of reciting kiddush on Shabbat. The Friday night kiddush explicitly affirms that we were lovingly gifted Shabbat as a holy day. It is our hope that our Year 5 graduates will take their Jewish identity and carry it with pride as they move to the next phase of their learning journey.
