An Aebsolutely Fableulous Production!

In a playful and fun-loving play, our Years 3 to 5 students performed Aebsolutely Fable-ulous this week.

The students were extremely excited and fully engaged in this production, being the first live performance opportunity for many of them. Based on Aesop’s fables The Ants and The GrasshoppersThe Kid Who Cried WolfThe Lions and the Mice and The Tortoise and the Hare, the students memorised and enacted the drama of the original playscript written by Bella Kourdoulos.

Over the course of the rehearsal period,  students developed their dramatic skills, focusing on their use of voice and movement to communicate their character’s emotions and motivations to the audience. This was excellently expressed in their performances through the wide variety of both animal and human characters. The Year 3 and Year 4 students wonderfully portrayed the four key fables, whilst the Year 5 students held the play together with their intertwined plot of chaotic children learning from storytellers.

Bella Kourdoulos as writer, director and producer,  brought a strong cultivation of drama practice and performance skills to the students. The School thanks Liz Hender and all Years 3 – 5 teaching staff for their contribution to rehearsals and support in the running of the show.

We’re thrilled that our Years 3 – 5 actors could tread the boards of RMC again!
