An Eating Disorder Story
This week our school community was very fortunate to hear from Asha and Tanya Mendel as part of our Parent Education series.
They very bravely shared their experience of Asha’s eating disorder. They talked us through the onset of the illness, the daily experience, the assistance they received, and the impact on family and friends. They also spoke about the warning signs and highlighted that parents should watch out for gastric issues, mood changes and social withdrawal. It was an extraordinarily personal evening which was highly emotional and it was incredibly generous of the Mendel family to open up to the King David community.
