Students share their passion for thinking

This week, Year 8 students participated in a Passion for Thinking Evening to mark the completion of the term’s work. Year 8 students Emily and Asher summarised the night below:

We presented our Passion for Thinking (P4T) projects to our families after several weeks of preparation, research, and online portfolio design. Click here to see images from the evening. Projects included founding creative businesses, writing books, environmentally friendly products, and new food recipes. This project gave us the opportunity to delve deeper into a topic that we greatly care about, while gaining lifelong knowledge. It was wonderful seeing each other’s approaches to the assignment, and the projects were excellent examples of diversity of thought, creativity, and imagination.

On the night of the presentation, students were instructed to create a booth or a stand to present their projects. During the presentation, we would pitch our projects to parents, guests and whoever else chose to visit. An array of separate projects were presented, creating a diverse and unique experience. We were able to share our passion with others through this presentation, educating and inspiring others who may find interest in the projects. Students were also given the option to opt into a solo presentation of their project for an extra experience, which provided great enjoyment and positive feedback to all involved. The evening was a lively and high spirited event, and it was an experience that all Year 8’s will never forget.
