Victoria’s AFL Grand Final Eve public holiday was renamed ‘Thank You Day’ this year to show appreciation to those who have made sacrifices to contain the spread of Coronavirus. During a class discussion, we spoke about the importance of showing people our appreciation and acknowledge how much they have done for all of us to keep as safe and healthy during this pandemic. We brainstormed how and to whom we can express our gratitude. Each child made thank you cards to our local fire fighters, vets, police, doctors, paramedics, posties, surgeons, aged care workers and dentists. Once the cards were made, we put them in envelopes and placed it in the mail box, hoping to put a smile on the faces of people who receive them.
