Year 4 Camp Adventure

Our Year Four camp to Wombat Corner was an unforgettable adventure, packed with excitement, new skills, plenty of laughter, and awesome food! Students had the chance to try a variety of activities that encouraged teamwork, bravery, and resilience.

One of the highlights was our very first stop – tree surfing – where everyone climbed into harnesses and zipped through the emerald green treetops. Although for many students, it was nerve-wracking at first, students soon got into the rhythm, pushing aside fears to enjoy the thrill of climbing high among the trees. Another crowd favourite was canoeing. After a quick lesson on paddling and water safety, pairs set out to navigate the lake. With a lot of splashing and shouts of encouragement, we all found our way across the calm waters, learning to work as a team.

The low ropes course provided another fun challenge, as students navigated obstacles that required balance and problem-solving. We also enjoyed a few rounds of mini golf, testing our putting skills on the greens, and mountain biking gave us a chance to learn about gearing on bikes whilst exploring the trails around Wombat Corner. Learning how to handle our bikes on uneven terrain was challenging, but students quickly picked it up and enjoyed the scenic ride through the bush. Evenings brought their own special activities. We gathered around the campfire, singing some favourite songs. There’s something magical about sitting around the fire under the stars, and everyone loved the warm glow of the flames.

From start to finish, our time at Wombat Corner brought us closer together as classmates. We returned with amazing memories, new skills, and stories to tell. Thank you to our wonderful Year 10 madrichim (leaders), who brought their ruach (spirit) and care for our students to Wombat Corner.
